iFormBuilder and Esri team with ArcGIS solutions
Once again showing that “Esri is the ‘Where’, and iFormBuilder is the ‘What.” In the Esri Summer 2014 Forestry Newsletter, the integration of the iFormBuilder Data Collection platform with Esri ArcGIS to aid Washington state in moth damage and population control is presented. The article is available as a pdf at the Esri website. In the article, it states that:
“In 2013, Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) defended its forests from the pest with a trapping program supported by GIS technology including mobile data-capture tools and web applications.”
“Esri and (iForm parent company) Zerion Software, Inc., worked together to deliver a full end-to-end solution for recording information in the field, processing it on the state’s GIS platform and leveraging ArcGIS Online Basemaps and data layers for mapping analysis.”
The solution provided, supported near real-time data collection, management, analysis, and mapping. Thus reducing WSDA’s response time to gypsy moth detection from two hours in 2009 to 15 minutes in 2013.
In describing the iForm app, it was stated:
“Zerion’s mobile data collection platform, iFormBuilder and iForm app, is a robust, highly customizable tool for capturing relational data with or without a connection. “
